Getting to Uncle David's

Well on Thursday 5th we left Barcelona and took two trains to Perpignan, France. The first one stopped at the border and we switched to a French train after a casual passport check by the local police. In Perpignan Uncle David picked us up in his old telephone company repair van.
We had a good time of our trip to his village called Nebias. You start in a broad valley which narrows over the miles until you are driving through a gorge. Past the gorge, we headed up into the low mountains at the base of the Pyrenees where his village sits in yet another valley in the hills.
Along the way we stopped at local wineries to taste the local product.
We hiked up to a castle from 1060 a.d.

Went swimming in a random reservoir on the side of the road.

We meandered so much that we didn't make it home until about midnight.  We even drove by another (bigger) castle and upon seeing that they recently added flood lighting to the outside walls, decided to go under the "closed" chain and climb up the castle. We had the place to ourselves.
Since then we have had a great time balling around the house and seeing the little villages around.
