Today we walked from Larasoaña to Cizor Menor but the big event was walking through Pamplona. It was about 22 km distance and relatively flat and we were feeling good. On day two we walked with an Israeli soldier who walked closer to a pace I would consider running. He argued that walking fast was better in order to carry the weight of your pack for less time. Since then we have decided to push our pace and we are liking the tactic.
We made Pamplona close to lunch time but only stopped on the steps of museum to eat our usual lunch of bread, chorizo, tomotoe and cheese.
Although we didnt stay in town long, it was still fun walking through hustle and bustle of the old city. Our stopping point was Cizor Menor which was a small farming village on the far side of town.
We found a Refugio run by the Order of the Knights of Malta. An old couple ran the place and were hilarious. It cost 5 bucks to stay there, the old lady made dinner for whoever couldn't afford any, and they made coffee in the morning for all 50 of us- pot by pot. We did our laundry on the hand wash basin the backyard and enjoyed the view looking down into Pamplona. This is the battleground where Charlamagne defeated the moors around 800 A. D.

Cool, going to read about Chalamayne!
