Day 2

It seems that with each day it gets harder and harder to get out of bed.
Day 2 took us 10 hours to complete. The map says it was 25 km but we think it was much more. I have been wearing a pedometer and it says we did about 35 km. We have learned that the Spanish are inaccurate when it comes to trail marking.
Along the way we found a big dog outside a cafe. He would charge you, making you think you were in trouble, and at the last second he would drop his head, bury it between your legs and moan until you scratched his butt. That was fun.
There were some cool small towns we passed through.
By the time we finished, I was really hurting bady, cramping up, and felt like I couldn't take another step. The refugee we were looking to stay at was full, so we had to walk back across town looking for a place.  We found a man who let us sleep in his garage for 12 bucks. We soaked up the sun in his backyard and made ourselves dinner in the basement.

  1. Papa & I are again reading this together. Hang in there. You're getting acclimated and it will get easier. I remember reading that while the walk is not difficult (you may want to refute that) most people are not used to walking such distances day after day. You're having to make a rather dramatic switch from sea-legs to walking-legs!
Papa here - the really hard part will be being thankful for the hard part. It will get more difficult but you will get tougher. No matter what we are proud of y'all.
