My first day on Galileo was October 1st 2011, and I have been away from the boat for roughly two months of that time. Arwyn's first day officially was November 17th 2011 and she has had about 6 weeks off the boat since that time.

We have had a good run of it, visiting the countries/ islands: BVI, St. Maartin, Antigua, Isles des Saintes, Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Union, Bequia, Mustique, Palm, Mayreau, Petit Martinique,Petit St. Vincent, Grenada, USA (Maine/ Rhode Island), Portugal (Azores), Spain, France, Italy, Sardegna, Corisca, Siciily and the Aeolian Islands. I am certain I am forgetting some. Since the time we signed on, we have sailed approximately 21,259 nautical miles averaging about 8 knots. That comes out to about 110 24-hour days underway. We are proud of these numbers because the time and miles were truly earned.

Today is our last day on Galileo. We have an open invitation to come back next April and were asked to decide what we wanted to do by February. So for now it is to travel. We will not be able to take the computer with us for the next month, so we will do our best to update from Arwyn's phone.
We are off to put more miles behind us, only this time the miles will be won with our feet. Over the next month we will be hiking the Camino de Santiago Frances. Start to finish this will be about 475 miles. We intend to make up for all that walking we didn't do whilst on Galileo.
Finally, I can't explain in words how excited and nervous we are to be moving on to the next chapter in our lives. Everything we own is back in duffle bags and we are leaving our floating home once more.
Baby steps off the boat…...
Sweet freedom
