Our time in Nebias

It's hard to know where to start in describing our time here in France. We came here to see our Uncle and learn about his life here. He has recently hurt his back and is in the middle of restoring his farm house in Nebias, France, so Arwyn and I put our hands up to help him while we were here.
Since we got here we have generally been waking up early and  going to bed late, drinking coffee and wine respectively and taking time to talk. Do you remember talking? It was before Facebook and even before tv.
We cleared rubble out of the third floor, lowering it bucket by bucket, Arwyn has been applying an oily sealer to all of the beams on the ceiling and I have been working to rebuild a window support and patching a wall.
Yesterday we went to the local market and bought food and other things we will need for the camino which is rapidly approaching.
Tonight is our last night here. Uncle David said he could take us part of the way to the camino so we leave tomorrow and the three of us are going camping for a night and will then part ways.

  1. That's great! We'll be looking forward to your help with some renovations around here! ;) Seriously, we're proud of y'all for helping. I'm sure your uncle is appreciative. I bet he doesn't get to see family often so having you there and having your assistance must make it doubly nice. I really like the quantity of photos in these more recent posts. Don't get me wrong, I love your commentaries but seeing both of you does my heart good.

  2. Such beautiful country! Yall better not enjoy yourselves to much, I'm afraid Texas will be to tame for your liking and we wont be able to keep ya. Am very proud of what both of you are doing especially for helping uncle Dave out with a some manual labor. Shows character.
